Info Minister Inaugurates Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum at PBC Headquarters

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, inaugurated the newly-constructed "Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum" at Radio Pakistan Headquarters in Islamabad today. The event was also attended by Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ambreen Jan, Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, along with officers from both the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Radio Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the museum was established in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA), a subsidiary organization of the Ministry of Culture, Turkiye. It reflects Radio Pakistan's role in nation-building throughout history. During the inaugural ceremony, Minister Attaullah Tarar praised Turkiye's cooperation in preserving and presenting Radio Pakistan's historical contributions.

The Minister emphasized Radio Pakistan's role in national development, stating that it has significantly contributed to the promotion of education, art, and culture, as well as strengthening the economy through awareness programs. He noted that the national broadcaster has always been an effective communication tool during natural calamities and that its national songs during wars have maintained the morale and spirit of both the armed forces and the nation.

Attaullah Tarar expressed confidence that the museum will serve as a milestone in further strengthening Pakistan-Turkiye relations, describing the friendship between the two countries as a deep-rooted 'heart to heart' relationship.

Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, speaking at the event, highlighted that TiKA has completed nearly seven hundred projects across different sectors in Pakistan over the past fourteen years. He affirmed the cordial relations between Pakistan and Turkiye, based on strong people-to-people linkages, and expressed his government's resolve to further enhance these brotherly relations.

Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, in his welcome remarks, thanked the Turkish government for its support in establishing the museum, which showcases Seljuk Architecture and educates visitors on the proud history of Radio Pakistan.
