13th Death Anniversary of Arfa Karim Randhawa Commemorated

Lahore: The thirteenth death anniversary of the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in the world, Arfa Karim Randhawa, was observed on Tuesday. Arfa Karim achieved global recognition when she passed the Microsoft Certified Professional examination at the age of nine in 2004. According to Radio Pakistan, her exceptional talent in Information Technology was acknowledged by Microsoft owner Bill Gates, who invited her to visit the company's headquarters in the United States when she was just ten years old. Her remarkable achievements earned her numerous awards and international recognition. In 2005, Arfa Karim was awarded the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology by the government. In the same year, she also received the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award. Additionally, she was honored with the Pride of Performance award for her contributions. A software technology park in Lahore has been named after Arfa Karim to honor her legacy. Arfa Karim passed away on January 14, 2012, in Lahore at the age of 16.
