Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has called for structural reforms in bureaucracy to make it efficient and responsive to modern requirements.
He was addressing the graduation ceremony of the participants of the 117th National Management Course and 32nd Senior Management Course at National School of Public Policy in Lahore on Friday.
The Minister emphasized to replace the deteriorated models of governance with modern ones.
Ahsan Iqbal said more coordination between different departments will help in quick service delivery.
The Minister impressed upon the civil servants to treat the general public with respect as it will increase their trust on public service.
Highlighting the importance of Artificial Intelligence in modern world, he stressed the need to pay special attention on education, research and training to upgrade the skills of bureaucracy.
Ahsan Iqbal urged that civil service examination should be divided into the categories of foreign service, economy and media.
The Minister said tax network needs to be expanded and diversified to improve economic situation of the country.
He stressed the need to introduce business friendly policies to attract more Foreign Direct Investment into the country.
