Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has demanded that all the culprits involved in the May 9 incidents should be punished. Addressing a press conference in Lahore today he said that leaders of all political parties have been arrested in the past, but no one has attacked defence installations and martyrs' memorials. The Chairman said the state is more important than politics and politics can be sacrificed but not the state. Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that a commission should be formed to investigate who is conspiring to divide the army and the people in this country. He said that it is impossible to deny the fact that the attacks on May 9 were not pre-planned. He said if justice is not served in the incident of May 9, such an incident may happen again in the future. Source: Radio Pakistan
