ANF Launches Initiatives to Combat Narcotics Use Across the Country

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is taking multiple initiatives to eradicate the use of narcotics from the country. Addressing the media in Rawalpindi, ANF Senior Director Syed Sijjeel Haider emphasized the purpose of these activities is to ensure the safety of youth from the curse of drugs.

According to Radio Pakistan, ANF launched a nationwide campaign in September last year, committed to making educational institutions across the country drug-free. Syed Sijjeel Haider highlighted that the force has seized over 177 metric tons of drugs during operations in different parts of the country since last year.

The seized drugs hold an estimated value of ten billion US dollars in the international market. Additionally, over 2,200 drug-peddlers have been apprehended during this period, showcasing the efforts made by ANF in curbing the narcotics trade.

Syed Sijjeel Haider appreciated the role of various segments of society, including media, educational institutions, students, the Higher Education Commission, and civil society, for their cooperation with ANF in this significant endeavor.
