Asim Demands Action to Protect Workers in Armed Conflicts

New York: At the United Nations, Pakistan has demanded concrete steps to protect humanitarian workers in armed conflicts. Delivering the national statement at the UN Security Council briefing on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, stressed that the international community is failing those who risk their lives to serve others.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad condemned the recent killing of fifteen humanitarian workers by Israel, including eight Palestinian medics, six civil defense first responders, and a UN staff member. He described it as a wanton and shameless act in southern Gaza that has left the world appalled. Ahmad's remarks highlighted the urgent need for international measures to ensure the safety and security of humanitarian workers operating in conflict zones.
