ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has announced an increase in the quarterly payments of the Benazir Kafalat initiative, raising the amount from 10,500 rupees to 13,500 rupees. This change is set to take effect starting this month, marking a significant uplift in financial assistance for eligible recipients.

According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement was made by Rubina Khalid, the Chairperson of BISP, during a ceremony in Islamabad. The adjustment in the payment structure is part of a broader strategy to enhance support for underprivileged communities across the country. In addition to the increased financial aid, Khalid announced that the year 2025 would be dedicated to the Benazir Hunarmand Program. This initiative is designed to empower deserving families by offering skill training in various fields that align with international job market trends.

Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized the government's ongoing commitment to serving disadvantaged communities through BISP and similar platforms. She highlighted that the government is committed to delivering these services with honesty, passion, and determination, ensuring that the needs of the underprivileged are met effectively. The strategic focus on skill development under the Benazir Hunarmand Program is expected to provide long-term benefits by equipping individuals with the necessary tools to improve their economic standing.
