Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir says CASA 1000 is a milestone energy project as it will benefit four countries of the region including Pakistan.

Speaking at a function at Azakhel in district Nowshera on Thursday, he said the government is striving hard to generate cost effective and renewable energy in the country through solar, hydel, coal, nuclear and wind resources.

The Minister said 100 MW electricity from Iran will be provided to the local population in Balochistan through the Bolan-Jiwani transmission line.

He said speedy work continues on power projects across the country to provide low cost electricity besides creating job opportunities and boosting trade.
