The Central Development Working Party has approved eight development projects worth over one hundred forty-four billion rupees. The approval was accorded at a meeting of the Central Development Working Party which met in Islamabad today with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal in the chair. Out of these, five projects worth 15.35 billion rupees were by the forum, while it recommended three projects worth 129 billion rupees to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for its consideration. According to details, a project related to Education named "Reaching Out of School Children in AJK" worth 7183.515 million rupees was approved, while a project related to Health namely "Establishment of Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research, Lahore" worth 52772.520 million rupees was recommended to ECNEC for consideration. The project is proposed to be financed through Provincial Annual Development Programme. Four projects related to Higher Education sector namely "Establis hment of National Center of Artificial Intelligence (Revisited)" costing 1854.446 million rupees, "Establishment of National Center of Excellence in Big Data and Cloud Computing (Revised) worth 2383.186 million rupees, "Establishment of National Center in Robotics and Automation (Revised)" worth 2043.663 million rupees and "Establishment of National Center for Cyber Security (Revised)" costing 1887.794 million rupees were also approved by the forum. A project related to Transport and Communications namely "Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project Phase-II" worth 61308 million rupees was recommended to ECNEC for consideration. The project is proposed to be financed through World Bank loan. Another project related to Water Resource sector "Kachhi Canal Project Restoration of Flood Damages 2022" worth 14701.427 million rupees was also recommended to ECNEC for further consideration.
