Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Aftab Sultan has expressed the determination to fulfill national responsibility of rooting out corruption with complete professionalism and unbiasedness.
Addressing an event in Islamabad on Wednesday in connection with the return of amounts to the affectees of corrupt practices, he categorically made it clear that the NAB has no inclination whatsoever in favor of or against anybody.
Aftab Sultan said that he has the firm belief that the society can be purged of corruption and that we can leave behind a better Pakistan for the future generations. He noted this menace is a big obstacle in the way of socio-economic development.
The Chairman NAB appealed to the people to extend full cooperation in the fight against corruption and do not indulge in investing their legitimate money in illegal businesses.
In his remarks on the occasion, DG NAB Rawalpindi Farmanullah said that his branch has made direct recoveries of forty billion rupees, in addition to the indirect recoveries of three hundred and seventy billion rupees.
Later, the Chairman NAB handed over the cheques to the affectees. An amount of about fifty million rupees was returned to the individuals and the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh.
