Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed that the Punjab Government remains fully committed to democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of vulnerable groups. This announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation led by the European Union Special Representative for Human Rights, Olof Skoog, in Lahore.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz outlined the government's initiatives aimed at the welfare of minorities, women, children, and persons with disabilities. The discussion underscored the administration's dedication to these groups and its ongoing efforts to promote their rights and well-being.
The European Union delegation also had a session with Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, in Lahore. The EU representatives reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Punjab government's initiatives to uphold human rights and democratic values.
