Islamabad: Denmark has expressed readiness to provide support to Pakistan in climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives. The support was articulated by the Danish ambassador to Pakistan, Jakob Linulf, during a meeting with Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Musadik Malik, in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on Pakistan's climate vulnerability and explored joint collaborative opportunities to enhance the country's climate resilience. Minister Musadik Malik emphasized the government's commitment to targeted projects aimed at driving international funding and fostering cooperation in climate initiatives.
The Minister further mentioned that Pakistan's petroleum sector is leading a green revolution within the country. He pointed out that Pakistan State Oil has initiated a renewable energy program, and Marri Petroleum is also advancing towards transitioning to renewable energy sources.
