DPM, Hungarian FM Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Ties

New york: Pakistan and Hungary have expressed their resolve for early finalization of agreements for protection of mutual investment and cooperation in the area of civil aviation and commencement of direct flight operations between the two countries. This commitment was expressed at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly session in New York today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two sides also showed determination to finalize a visa abolition agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-Hungary bilateral ties on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, including by exploring new avenues of cooperation.

Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan's strong desire to deepen trade and investment linkages with Hungary. He briefed the Hungarian Foreign Minister on the steps being taken by the Government of Pakistan to facilitate Hungarian investments in the country. In response, the Hungarian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister for their personal involvement and support towards Hungarian investments in Pakistan.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar thanked the Hungarian Foreign Minister for providing 400 scholarships to Pakistani students. The Hungarian Foreign Minister reiterated his government's commitment to continue supporting educational cooperation opportunities for Pakistani students in Hungary. Additionally, issues related to regional and international peace and security were discussed.
