The Economic Coordination Committee has approved the proposed Ramadan Relief Package-2024. The approval was accorded at a meeting chaired by Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar in Islamabad today. Under the package, subsidies will be provided to targeted beneficiaries of BISP with a net amount of 7.4928 billion rupees. Moreover, the forum also approved proposals regarding the "Individual Tariff Rationalization Proposals from Different Sectors for Review of Custom Duties" and "Permission to Import Wheat and Export Wheat Flour' under the Export Facilitation Scheme 2021. The ECC also approved a summary of the Power Division regarding the "Commissioning of 1263 MW CCPP Punjab Thermal Power (Pvt) Limited, Jhang. On the proposal of the Commerce Ministry regarding "Sharing of Subsidy on Imported Urea at a 50:50 Basis Technical Supplementary Grant," the Committee approved the proposed release of six billion rupees for clearing the arrears of subsidy for the previous financial year.
