The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved six mega development projects worth over 178 billion rupees in the areas of health, agriculture, energy and transport. The approval was given at a meeting of the ECNEC, which met in Islamabad today with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in the chair. These projects include Establishment of Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research in Lahore with 52772.520 million rupees, Sindh Livestock and Aquaculture Development Project worth 38360 million rupees, and construction of 84 megawatt Gorkin Matiltan High Power Plant (Revised) with 35758 million rupees. The ECNEC also accorded approval to projects of Transport and Communications sector. These include construction and widening of roads from Sibi-Talli, Kohlu to Rakhni with 8401.227 million rupees, Upgradation of Jaglot-Sakradu Road with 33270.600 million rupees and construction of Rathoua Haryam Bridge across Reservoir Channel on Mirpu r-Islamabad Road with 9239.534 million rupees.
