Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that police serves as a frontline force for maintenance of law and order and protection of lives and properties of the people.
Addressing the passing out parade of constables in Islamabad today, he said policing is a sacred duty, expressing the confidence that the police personnel will dispense their duties with the spirit of serving the masses.
He said ensuring law and order is imperative to take the country forward on the path of progress and prosperity.
The Interior Minister said the recent induction in Islamabad police has been made purely on merit. He said Islamabad police should serve a role model for all the federating units and work with complete diligence and dedication to give a sense of complete security to the residents of the capital.
Rana Sanaullah emphasized for continuous training and capacity building of police personnel.
The Interior Minister also highlighted the steps taken for the welfare of police personnel. He said a hospital is being constructed for them and their families in Islamabad at a cost of five billion rupees.
