Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan has said that Pakistani and American citizens are playing a pivotal role in strengthening the cooperation and partnership between the two countries. Talking to Federal Magistrate Judge Zia Farooqui during his visit to Washington District Court, he expressed pride in the contributions of Pakistani-American citizens, who are serving in key positions at various institutions. He said the services rendered by Pakistani-American citizens in prestigious positions in different institutions are a matter of pride for Pakistan. The two sides engaged in fruitful discussions regarding the services provided by Pakistani-American citizens in various institutions, including the American judiciary. During the meeting, they emphasized the exchange of expertise, particularly in the field of higher education and student exchanges between the two countries. Earlier, the Ambassador was warmly received by the Federal Magistrate Judge Zia Farooqui at the District of Columbi a District Court. Judge Zia Farooqui holds the distinction of being the first Pakistani-American magistrate judge in the District Court, assuming responsibilities of the federal magistrate judge since 2020. Additionally, Magistrate Judge Zia Farooqui is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Muslim American Public Service Board and serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of Georgetown Day School, a renowned educational institution in the United States. He is the first Pakistani Muslim to be appointed to these positions. The Ambassador Masood Khan extended an invitation to Federal Judge Zia Farooqui to visit Pakistan, which was graciously accepted. Subsequently, Ambassador Khan accompanied Judge Farooqui to observe court proceedings in an important case, spending some time in the courtroom.
