LAHORE: Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, emphasized that political stability is imperative for Pakistan's economic progress. Speaking at a ceremony at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gillani called for improvements in the country's economic policies to foster growth.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gillani underscored the importance of developing special economic zones as a means to strengthen the economy. He highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, pointing out its role in advancing modern technologies and creating new employment opportunities. Gillani stressed that the project is pivotal for the country's economic development.

The Chairman also noted the significance of public-private partnerships in driving economic growth. He urged stakeholders to collaborate more effectively to achieve shared economic objectives.

Additionally, Gillani addressed the energy sector, emphasizing Pakistan's diverse energy sources, including solar, wind, hydro, coal, and gas. He stated that these resources are capable of meeting the nation's energy demands, which is essential for sustaining economic stability and growth.
