Government Extends Grocery Store Hours to 10 PM Nationwide

Islamabad: The Government has announced an extension of the closing time for standalone grocery and kiryana stores to 10:00 PM across the country, effective immediately. This decision was made during a meeting of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Fuel Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Committee reviewed various cases submitted by different Ministries and Divisions that sought exemptions from existing austerity measures. Following a thorough evaluation, the Committee finalized its recommendations on these requests. Additionally, the Committee decided that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with its liaison offices in Quetta, Karachi, Peshawar, Gujrat, and Lahore, will now provide Consular Attestation services on Fridays to facilitate public convenience.

Moreover, the Committee has recommended extending the applicability of specific additional austerity measures. Initially set to expire on June 13th, these measures will now remain in effect until June 30th. This decision is part of the government's broader strategy to ensure efficient fuel conservation and implement necessary austerity measures nationwide.
