Government to Unveil Five-Year Economic Transformation Plan

LAHORE: Pakistan's government is set to introduce a comprehensive National Economic Transformation Plan aimed at reshaping the country's economic landscape over the next five years. The initiative, announced by the Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, emphasizes the importance of adapting to emerging technologies and boosting exports to ensure sustainable development.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Iqbal revealed details of the plan during a speech at the passing out ceremony for the officers of the 47th Specialized Training Program of the Pakistan Administration Service. The minister outlined that the transformation plan targets key areas necessary for Pakistan's future economic growth, underscoring the need for a shift towards an export-based economy. He highlighted the role of e-commerce and the adoption of technologies such as automation, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence, which are poised to redefine global economic dynamics.

Iqbal stressed the importance of integrating the nation's human resources with these emerging technologies to remain competitive. He also called upon civil servants to leverage their skills to effectively address public issues, emphasizing that civil service should be viewed as a significant responsibility rather than merely a job.
