Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister's Focal Person on Garment City and Women Vocational Training Centers, Salma Sadia Taimur, has announced that the government is actively implementing initiatives to enhance cultural, artistic, and literary activities within society. She made these remarks during a ceremony celebrating the literary accomplishments of renowned Poetess and Human Rights Activist Farzana Aqib in Lahore.
According to Radio Pakistan, Salma Taimur highlighted that the government has launched several significant projects, particularly targeting the youth, with a special emphasis on empowering women. These initiatives aim to foster a vibrant cultural landscape and promote artistic expression across the region.
During her address, Taimur praised Farzana Aqib for her contributions to literature and culture. She noted that Aqib has successfully introduced Islamic culture globally through her poetry and has played a pivotal role in projecting Pakistan's soft image on the international stage.
The event also featured speeches by Zaki Ijaz, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Sajjad Parvez, Controller News at Radio Pakistan Lahore, who both addressed the audience and acknowledged the importance of promoting cultural activities.
