Govt Pledges Support to Private Sector for Export Growth: Ahsan

Islamabad: Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal announced the government's commitment to providing policy support and investment facilities to the private sector to drive export growth and introduce innovation into the economy. This pledge was made during the second meeting of the Policy Board under the "Uraan Pakistan" Programme held in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on promoting private investment, accelerating export growth, fostering industrialization, upgrading infrastructure, and advancing modern technologies to propel Pakistan's economic development. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the 5Es framework, aiming to transform Pakistan into a three trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

During the session, various proposals were introduced to develop industrial clusters and boost exports. Ahsan Iqbal suggested integrating entrepreneurship as a mandatory subject in university curriculums to empower the younger generation with the tools needed to create business opportunities and contribute to export growth.

He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to enhance Pakistan's production capacity. The Minister underscored the need to embrace automation and modern technologies in industries to secure a competitive edge in the global market.

Furthermore, Ahsan Iqbal called for a stronger focus on branding and quality control to increase exports to international markets, including China, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. He stressed that achieving economic development, self-sufficiency, and global competitiveness requires a close partnership between the government and the private sector.
