Govt Pursues Policy to Boost Private Sector, End Unemployment: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the government is actively pursuing a policy to promote the private sector to eradicate unemployment in the country. Chairing a meeting on the Prime Minister Youth Program today, he highlighted the Uraan Pakistan project, which aims to generate new employment opportunities nationwide. He stressed the importance of equipping the youth with professional skills to enhance employment prospects.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister underscored the roles of NAVTTC and the Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Program in promoting technical and professional skills. He pointed out that Pakistan's future is intertwined with the growth of the IT sector. Furthermore, he instructed the development of a plan to align with the market needs of friendly countries to provide employment opportunities for the youth abroad. He also emphasized taking action against fake and unlicensed companies offering overseas employment.

The Prime Minister was informed about the upcoming launch of the Prime Minister Digital Youth Hub, a platform designed to keep the youth informed about job opportunities and other services. He directed that the Digital Youth Hub be introduced in all local languages in addition to English, to ensure wide accessibility.

During the meeting, there was a briefing on the progress of the Prime Minister Youth Employment Plan, initiatives to equip the workforce with skills required in the international market, and other related projects.
