Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that Federal Government is taking steps to highlight the tourist destinations of Gilgit-Baltistan at international level and promote tourism in the region.
Addressing a briefing session in Gilgit today (Thursday), he said the federal government would cooperate with the regional government for the promotion and protection of GB culture.
He said Pakistan National Council of Arts office would be opened in Gilgit and Museum Cultural Hall and other infrastructure would also be constructed in the area.
Shafqat Mahmood said that work is underway for a uniform middle and high level curriculum in the country.
He said Gilgit-Baltistan has vast energy opportunities that can be used to generate more energy than the region needs.
