Govt working tirelessly for progress of country: Attaullah

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar says the present government, is working tirelessly for Pakistan's progress and development. Addressing a news conference in Lahore today, he said the government is well aware of the economic challenges faced by the country and the Prime Minister holds meetings on daily basis to overcome these challenges. Information Minister said government is taking measures for privatization of loss-making public sector entities. He said restructuring of FBR is necessary to broaden tax net. The Minister said international economic journals have praised the appointment of new Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. To a question, he said all political parties should sit together for consensus on a code of ethics for social media. The Information Minister said sacrifices rendered by the martyrs are the guarantee of our safety and survival. Urging the people to use social media in a responsible manner, he announced that accounts insulting martyrs would be identifie d and strict legal action will be taken against the culprits. He said that there is no harm in political criticism but insulting and ridiculing the martyrs' is not acceptable. Source: Radio Pakistan
