Lahore: Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is actively working to enhance the agricultural sector with a focus on environmental protection. The initiative aims to ensure a sustainable future by introducing eco-friendly methods in agriculture.
According to Radio Pakistan, efforts are being made to convert the barren lands of Cholistan into cultivable areas and stabilize the agricultural sector through modern irrigation systems. This approach is seen as a crucial step towards addressing agricultural challenges and boosting productivity.
A pivotal aspect of this initiative is the establishment of twenty-five Green Agri Malls and Smart Agri Farms in Punjab. These facilities are expected to play a significant role in the region's agricultural development by providing necessary resources and support to farmers.
Additionally, model farms have been set up in Pirwal and Muzaffargarh. These farms are designed to educate farmers about modern agricultural techniques, which could lead to improved farming practices and increased yields.
The GPI's efforts signify a commitment to not only bolster the agricultural sector but also to integrate sustainable practices that align with environmental conservation goals.
