Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has operationalized Pakistan Broadcasting Academy after several years by formally inaugurating a training programme for the media aspirants. Speaking at the ceremony at Pakistan Broadcasting Academy Islamabad today, he congratulated Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Ahmed Sheikh for making the Academy functional after a long time. The Minister said the Academy is fully equipped with the necessary modern facilities to train the youth in the field of media. He said Radio Pakistan is one of the best sources to gain information, knowledge and entertainment. He said anyone can join the training programmes being offered at the PBA from anywhere in the world with the help of modern technology. Acknowledging the role of Radio Pakistan, Murtaza Solangi said he learned a lot from the programmes of the state broadcaster. He said except his mother tongue, he learned several other languages including Urdu, English, Punjabi and S araiki from Radio Pakistan. Earlier in his welcome remarks, Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Sheikh said a total of one hundred and seven participants have joined the training program from across the country through Zoom facility. He said Radio Pakistan will continue playing its important role in human and social development. The courses to be offered in Musicology, Anchoring, Computer, Electronic Journalism, Podcast, RJ and Trans-media Story Telling will mainly focus on hands-on training and practical knowledge. Eminent musicians, singers, broadcasters and anchorpersons - produced by Radio Pakistan - will impart this useful knowledge to the participants of the courses. The media aspirants will learn how to do responsible journalism adhering to the relevant principles, ethics and values. It may be added that PBA has a history to train professionals of Radio Pakistan through induction courses and keep them well equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques through refresher courses.
