Interior Minister Terms Terrorism an International Issue During Meeting with US Ambassador

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that terrorism is an international issue, urging the global community to collaborate in combating it. He conveyed these sentiments during a meeting with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Interior Minister emphasized the government's strong actions against terrorists and mentioned that a comprehensive policy is being formulated to counter terrorism. He expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for acknowledging Pakistan's efforts in the fight against terrorism and assured full cooperation in the repatriation of illegal Pakistani immigrants residing in the United States.

Mohsin Naqvi also announced that the Pakistan-US Caucus meeting is scheduled in New York next month, which will focus on Pakistan-US relations, matters of mutual interest, and bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, US Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker condemned the recent terrorist attack on Jaffar Express and other incidents, offering condolences to the families of the victims. Both sides discussed enhancing mutual cooperation in counterterrorism efforts, agreeing to hold a Counter-Terrorism Dialogue in June this year.

Natalie Baker also praised the ongoing development projects in Islamabad and appreciated various initiatives in different sectors of Pakistan. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, US Political Counselor Zach Harkenrider, and Interior Secretary Khurram Agha.

Additionally, Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker congratulated Talal Chaudhry on assuming the office of Minister of State for Interior.
