Lahore: The International Day for Tolerance was observed on Saturday, highlighting the need for respect, acceptance, and appreciation of the diverse cultures, expressions, and ways of being human across the world. According to Radio Pakistan, the theme for this year's observance emphasized the importance of recognizing and valuing the rich diversity present in global cultures. Punjab Chief Minister Maryum Nawaz, in her message for the day, underscored that tolerance and respect are foundational elements of a successful and peaceful society. She elaborated that the world is a blend of various beliefs, cultures, and philosophies, each deserving of respect. Nawaz further stated that tolerance and harmony are being promoted in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, the founding father of Pakistan. She also called upon educational institutions to incorporate teachings of tolerance, respect, and love in their curricula to instill these principles in the younger generation, ensuring a more harmonious future.
