Lahore: The 2nd International Boxing Championship "Fight for Glory" is set to take place at the Jinnah Sports Complex, Lahore Garrison, from the 26th to the 29th of this month. This event, organized in collaboration with the World Boxing Association (WBA), promises to be a significant occasion for boxing enthusiasts and sports diplomacy alike. According to Radio Pakistan, a total of 44 professional boxers from 15 countries will compete for the title in this championship. Among these competitors are six boxers representing Pakistan: Waseem, Waqas, Asim Zaman, Mohibullah, Jania, and Komal Akhlaq. Additionally, international boxers from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Argentina, Thailand, Dominican Republic, South Korea, Philippines, Ghana, and Nigeria will be participating, including British boxer of Pakistani origin Lara Ikram. The Government has put in place a special security plan to ensure smooth arrangements throughout the event. The championship aims not only to provide a platform for showcasing boxing talent but also to promote Pakistan's positive image globally, encourage sports diplomacy, and foster international cooperation and cultural harmony.
