International Day of Rural Women is being observed today (Saturday) to create awareness about gender equality and empowering women.
This year’s theme of the day “Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All” highlights the essential role that rural women and girls play in the food systems of the world.
Meanwhile, an Annual Rural Women Conference has started in Islamabad in connection with International Day of Rural Women.
Rural women from 120 districts of the country have gathered at the conference.
The conference provides platform to rural women and their leadership to bring their issues and solutions on the front vocally for change to reduce gender gap in every sphere of life.
