Rawalpindi: An investiture ceremony to confer military awards on officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army was held at the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi today. Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, presided over the event as the Chief Guest, where he conferred awards to the families of Shuhada, officers, and soldiers in recognition of their gallantry in operations and distinguished services to the nation.
According to Radio Pakistan, the decorations conferred during the ceremony included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat. Medals awarded posthumously were received with honor by the families of Shuhada. Emphasizing the importance of these sacrifices, the Field Marshal stated that Shuhada and Ghazis remain the enduring pride of the nation, and their sacrifices are a sacred trust for every Pakistani.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir expressed profound admiration for the resilience and steadfastness demonstrated by the families of Shuhada. He acknowledged their unparalleled sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the homeland. Commending the operational preparedness and resolve of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies, he lauded their efforts against terrorists.
The Field Marshal reaffirmed that the fight against terrorism will continue with full national resolve until peace and stability are achieved across the country.
