Iran’s top diplomat says talks with Saudis could restore ties

Iran has expressed the hope that its ties with Saudi Arabia will be restored soon.

Speaking at a news conference in Lebanon, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian hoped that both the countries will reopen their diplomatic missions or embassies in respective capitals within the framework of dialogue between the two countries.

Saudi Arabia cut ties with Iran in 2016 after protesters attacked the Saudi embassy in Tehran.
