Jam Kamal Commits to Bolstering Local Manufacturing and Export Growth.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has emphasized Pakistan's commitment to support local manufacturing over imports to boost industrial growth. He expressed these views during a meeting with outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan WADA Mitsuhiro in Islamabad today. The Minister highlighted Japan's pivotal role in Pakistan's automotive sector, particularly in promoting electric vehicle technology. Acknowledging Japan's pioneering efforts, he emphasized the optimistic prospects for electric vehicles in Pakistan's future. According to Radio Pakistan, Jam Kamal Khan also appreciated the longstanding relationship between Japan and Pakistan, particularly in the exchange of technology and industrial knowledge, which has consistently benefitted both nations. On his part, the Japanese Ambassador said he looks forward to continued cooperation between the two countries. Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan also met with a team of World Bank in Islamabad today and discussed Pakistan's export refor m agenda focusing on strategies to enhance export competitiveness. Jam Kamal Khan highlighted the Whole-of-Government approach to export enhancement, which promotes a unified policy framework to improve competitiveness and the Ease of Doing Business for exporters. The World Bank reiterated its commitment to collaborating on knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen Pakistan's global trade connections. Both sides agreed to form a joint working group on trade to advance the goal of realizing Pakistan's export potential of sixty billion dollars.
