‘Kashmir issue still on UN charter’

The Secretary General of the United Nations has repeatedly reiterated that the issue of Kashmir is still on the charter of the United Nations and he is concerned about the violation of human rights in Occupied Kashmir.

These views were expressed today by the United Nations Assistant Secretary for Political and Peace Affairs Mohamed Khaled Khiari and the United Nations Assistant Secretary for Human Rights Commission Ilze Brands Kehris in a detailed meeting with President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry in New York.

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir said that United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres should speed up his efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue because India has started large-scale changes in Occupied Kashmir since 5 August 2019.

On this occasion, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry gave a detailed briefing to the top officials of the United Nations on the issue of Kashmir and the latest situation in occupied Kashmir.
