Minister Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has underlined the significance of constructing dams and hydropower projects.

Addressing a briefing in Lahore, he said this is a collective responsibility to move forward for harnessing water resources in the country.

Reviewing the post-flood situation, Federal Minister expressed satisfaction over the contingency plans of WAPDA to mitigate the possible delays in completion of the projects due to the recent floods.

Earlier, apprising the federal minister about the grim water situation in Pakistan, WAPDA Chairman retired Lt General Sajjad Ghani underlined the dire need of building more dams to improve water situation in the country.
