Peshawar: A meeting of the Apex Committee Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held in Peshawar today with Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in the chair. Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary, and IGP, along with high civil and military officials, attended the meeting. The forum agreed to improve the quality of life of the people of the merged districts and to pay special attention to socio-economic development of these districts. It was also agreed to allocate more financial resources for rapid social development in the merged districts. According to Radio Pakistan, the forum decided to continue the joint efforts of the civil government, security forces, and the people to address the scourge of terrorism in the province. The Apex Committee also agreed on an important initiative by the Chief Minister for the families of security forces' martyrs. It was decided to provide packages to the families of 178 martyrs who were martyred during the last six months. The Committee also resolved to use all available options for maintaining law and order in the Kurram district by protecting the life and property of residents.
