The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to hold local government elections in phases.
This was stated by Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Kamran Bangash while briefing media on the decisions taken in the provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, in Peshawar today (Monday).
The Special Assistant on Information said the decision was taken in order to maintain law and order situation during the elections.
In the first phase, he said, local government polls will be held in villages and neighborhood councils. The elections on tehsil and district level will be held in the next phase.
The cabinet approved provision of 187 kanal state land in Deri Zardad, Charsadda to people with low income under an affordable housing scheme introduced by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Kamran Bangash said the federal government will also provide a subsidy of three-hundred thousand rupees for each house. The land will be allotted to the people whose income is below fifty-thousand rupees.
The cabinet gave approval to supply wheat to the flour mills by next month.
