Lahore will soon be getting its first government cancer hospital following the order of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Moshin Naqvi.
The directive was given by the CM during his visit to the Manawan hospital, where he assessed the proposed site for the cancer hospital as well as the existing hospital building.
Furthermore, the CM also inspected an adjacent building and gave orders to transform Manawan Hospital into a dedicated cancer treatment center. Naqvi stressed on the importance of a cancer hospital for Lahore’s 140 million population.
CM Punjab also headed a meeting in the Manawan hospital to review the processes made so far for the establishment of the cancer hospital.
Moreover, Principal Amiruddin Medical College, Prof Dr Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar, has formed a committee to oversee the upgradation of Lahore General Hospital’s emergency department.
Professor Khizr Hayat Gondal has been appointed as the head of the committee. Other members include Dr. Javaid Mumtaz, Dr. Lyla Shafique, Naseem Khaliq, Muhammad Ali, and Zafar Mukhtar.
