Law Minister Stresses Need for Alternative Dispute Resolution

Islamabad: Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has emphasized the need to introduce alternative dispute resolution mechanisms among the masses. Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad today, he highlighted the global prioritization of mediation as a way to resolve public disputes, noting its ability to save time and resources.

According to Radio Pakistan, Azam Nazeer Tarar underscored the teachings of Islam that advocate for peaceful means in the settlement of disputes. He pointed out the significant backlog of cases in the judicial system, with approximately three hundred thousand cases pending in high courts and around sixty thousand in the Supreme Court.

The Minister stated that the government is taking serious steps to reduce the burden of cases in courts, aiming to improve the efficiency of the judicial process and ensure timely justice for the public.
