Minister for Religious Affairs reviews Hajj arrangements

A high-level meeting regarding arrangements for this year's Hajj and training of Moavineen was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Senator Talha Mahmood in the chair.

Speaking on this occasion, Senator Talha Mahmood said reception desks for Pakistani pilgrims will be established at Jeddah and Madina Munawara airports.

He said Departments of Disappearance and Recovery and Guidance besides a Complaint Cell and Accommodation, food and travel facilities and monitoring departments of private Hajj scheme will also be established.

The Minister informed the meeting that 14 dispensaries including a Central Hospital will be established in Makkah and Madina.

He further said that the Hajj Medical Mission comprising 500 experienced army and civil doctors and paramedical staff will be sent to Saudi Arabia.

Senator Talha Mahmood said the Pakistani medical staff will be available round the clock with provision of medicines, x-rays and laboratory facilities free of cost.

He said more than five hundred Hajj Moavineen have been selected from across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Hajj Moavineen Sajjad Yaldram said pilgrims will be provided with all kinds of facilities and guidance to perform Hajj easily.

He said the Ministry of Religious Affairs is utilizing all resources for the convenience of pilgrims and Khudam are also being trained to cope with the weather and travel rigors in Saudi Arabia.
