Moon of Rajab Sighted, Signaling Start of Rajab-ul-Murrajab Tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The moon of Rajab has been sighted, marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Rajab-ul-Murrajab tomorrow. This moon sighting is significant as Rajab is considered one of the four sacred months in Islam.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an official notification confirming the sighting of the moon. The announcement specifies that the first day of Rajab-ul-Murrajab will commence tomorrow. This month is observed by many Muslims as a time of increased spiritual reflection and preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

Rajab is one of the four months mentioned in the Quran as being sacred, and its sighting is an event of religious importance for the Islamic community. The Ministry of Religious Affairs often collaborates with religious scholars and astronomers to ensure the accuracy of the moon sighting each month. The confirmation comes after observations and careful deliberations by the relevant authorities.

The beginning of Rajab marks a period that is often used for additional worship and contemplation by many Muslims, setting the stage for the observance of Shab-e-Miraj, which falls in this month, and subsequently, the arrival of Ramadan.
