Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has called for joint efforts to tackle the challenges faced by the country.
He was addressing a seminar in Islamabad on Monday, organized by Women’s Parliamentary Caucus in connection with International Democracy Day to be observed on Thursday.
The Speaker National Assembly said democracy is the best system that gives equal representation to all segments of society and creates awareness among the people.
About the ongoing disaster caused by floods in the country, he said climate change has adversely impacted Pakistan while it has no contribution in the phenomenon.
Raja Pervez Ashraf called upon the international community to come forward and help Pakistan mitigate the effects of climate change in the country.
