National Voters Day was observed on Tuesday with an objective to encourage greater participation in the electoral process.
To mark the day, special programmes, rallies, seminars and workshops were held at national, regional, and provincial levels.
Election Commission of Pakistan declared the 7th of December, as National Voters Day to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of voting in the electoral process.
Addressing a ceremony in Karachi to mark the Day, Sindh Election Commissioner Saeed Gul and Member of ECP Sindh Nisar Durani urged people to participate in ongoing campaign of voter registration and updating voter list.
Meanwhile, addressing a function in connection with the Day in Peshawar, Election Commissioner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sharif Ullah Khan has urged all segments of the society to play their due role to enhance the voters turn out ratio in the election.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with Day in Quetta, Election Commissioner Balochistan Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Murad said all possible steps are being taken to hold free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
