Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced that stringent measures will be enforced against individuals participating in the protest held in Islamabad, which has been declared illegal by the Islamabad High Court. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday, Tarar emphasized that there is no ongoing engagement with the PTI at any level. According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar clarified that contact was made with PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan only once to comply with the Islamabad High Court's ruling, informing them of the protest's illegal status. He reiterated that anyone participating in the protest will face arrest and legal consequences. Both the Islamabad and Punjab Police have been instructed to prevent any unlawful activities or damage to public property. Tarar accused the PTI of using rhetoric that aligns with the language of Pakistan's adversaries. The Information Minister expressed satisfaction with the country's improved economic indicators, noting that t he stock market's peak levels reflect a favorable business environment. However, he lamented that the PTI tends to call for protests whenever foreign investments are announced. He recalled PTI's sit-in when the Chinese President was scheduled to visit Pakistan for the CPEC and their protest announcement during the SCO meeting. Tarar highlighted the visit of the President of Belarus, an excellent friend of Pakistan, who is set to collaborate with Pakistan on local tractor manufacturing. He urged the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to focus on the province's law and order situation.
