Organization of Islamic Cooperation assures its support for Kashmir cause

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has assured its support for Kashmir cause and OIC endorsed Pakistan's stance which is principally based on UN resolutions.

The assurance was given by OIC Secretary General's Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir Ambassador Yousef Muhammed Saleh Aldobey during his visit to Chakothi area along the Line of Control and Muzaffarabad on Friday.

He was also leading a high-level delegation from brotherly Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia and Sudan.

The delegation interacted with victims of ceasefire violations and was briefed on situation along the LOC. The envoy, on the occasion, expressed his desire to visit Kashmir twice each year.

Upon arrival at Muzaffarabad, delegation laid floral wreath at J and K Monument.

The delegation also visited Mankpiyan Refugees Camp Muzaffarabad where they were briefed on elaborate measures taken for socio-economic wellbeing of the inhabitants who fled from Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, the delegation also met Senior Minister Colonel retired Waqar Ahmed Noor on behalf of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, besides meetings with representatives of various political parties and members of civil society.

The delegation thanked the Government of Pakistan for providing them an opportunity to visit the Line of Control and Azad Kashmir and get an eye witness account of situation along the LOC.
