RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Australian Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart met with Pakistan's Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir in Rawalpindi on Monday. The meeting focused on mutual interests, particularly the global and regional security environment, as both leaders engaged in constructive discussions. According to Radio Pakistan, General Syed Asim Munir emphasized Pakistan's appreciation for its ties with Australia and highlighted the importance of strong bilateral relations in promoting shared goals of peace and stability. The two sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthening defense and security cooperation, recognizing the value of continued collaboration for regional and global peace. Lieutenant General Stuart praised Pakistan's efforts in countering terrorism and expressed his determination to deepen bilateral defense and security cooperation between the two nations. Earlier, upon his arrival at the General Headquarters, the Chief of the Australian Army paid homage to Pakistan's martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. He received a warm welcome, with a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presenting a guard of honor.
