Pakistan and Azerbaijan Strengthen Ties with New Agreements

Baku: Pakistan and Azerbaijan have entered into several Memorandums of Understanding and agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, energy, tourism, and education. The agreements were formalized following discussions between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Radio Pakistan, the official documents were exchanged in a ceremony witnessed by Prime Minister Sharif and President Aliyev. One of the key agreements includes an MoU between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Pakistan's Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and PSO, focusing on collaboration for the Machike-Thallian-Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project.

In addition, an amendment agreement was signed to the Framework Agreement concerning the sale and purchase of LNG cargoes, which relates to the Master LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement. This move is expected to bolster energy cooperation between the two nations.

Another significant development is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the city of Nakhchivan in Azerbaijan and Lahore in Pakistan. This agreement aims to foster cooperation in cultural exchanges, tourism, urban development, education, science, and economic initiatives, thereby strengthening ties in multiple facets of public life.
