Rawalpindi: Pakistan and Bangladesh have reaffirmed their dedication to fostering regional peace, security, and stability through continued collaboration. This understanding was established during a meeting between Lieutenant General S M Kamr-ul-Hassan, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, in Rawalpindi.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions highlighted the importance of reinforcing military ties and protecting their partnership from external disruptions. Lieutenant General S M Kamr-ul-Hassan, who is currently visiting Pakistan with his delegation, expressed admiration for the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in combating terrorism.
The meeting focused on mutual strategic interests and potential avenues for enhancing bilateral defense cooperation. Lieutenant General Kamr-ul-Hassan also had discussions with Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, where they explored the evolving security dynamics in the region and the importance of strengthening military cooperation.
Both sides emphasized the need for a resilient defense relationship and agreed that the enduring partnership between their nations should withstand external influences. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza reiterated the shared vision for a secure and prosperous future, supported by strong defense collaboration.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir highlighted the importance of joint efforts to promote peace and stability in South Asia. He emphasized that both countries should continue contributing to regional security through collaborative defense initiatives. Lieutenant General Kamr-ul-Hassan commended the Pakistan Army's professionalism and recognized their significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, noting that their efforts exemplify courage and determination.
