Pakistan and Bangladesh to Collaborate on Sports Development

Dhaka: Pakistan and Bangladesh have reached an agreement to collaborate on promoting sports, with a particular focus on cricket and the establishment of umpire training programs. This initiative was discussed during a meeting between Pakistan's Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and Bangladesh's Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Asif Mahmood, in Dhaka.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two countries plan to formalize this collaboration through a signed agreement between their respective Cricket Boards. Beyond sports, the ministers discussed launching joint programs aimed at skill development and employment opportunities for youth. The meeting also served as a platform to exchange ideas on leveraging each country's experiences in higher education and innovations in solar energy.

During the discussions, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized Pakistan's secure identity system, which is managed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). Bangladeshi Minister Asif Mahmood expressed a strong interest in learning more about this system and announced that a delegation from Bangladesh would visit Pakistan in the near future to gather further information.
